our prayers and thoughts are with the family of ...

Every time someone 'famous' dies the news anchor says, 'our prayers and thoughts are with the family during this time of bereavement.' I asked my mom the other day, 'ma, do the Christians at the news station really form a circle and pray for all these people.' 'No, Monique.' When did this statement become so politically correct that it is said over and over and over again?
Don't the people know what would happen if the Christians at the news station and the Christians watching or listening to the broadcast would actually pray? I actually watch the news so I can know what is happening in our world and to pray for the nation. Our money says, 'in God, we trust.' My prayer is that the nation would trust in the God of Sarah, Rebekah, and Rachel/Leah. (the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob).
2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV) states: if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
Abba, I pray that those who have opened their hearts to receive Your love and Your forgiveness, will pray for the nation to return to the God who created them in God's image. God we need You. God we seek You. God help us understand who we are in You as we study Your Word, worship You at home and at church each week. God help us hide Your Word in our hearts that we might not sin against You or Your people. God let Your light shine in my life. I am light in this dark world. God help me remember that just as You forgive my confessed sins, let me forgive those who sin against me, in Jesus' name, amen.
