holy thursday/maundy thursday

tomorrow is Holy Thursday. it is the day biblically where Jesus instituted holy communion. Jesus said, 'My body is going to become the Lamb of God and my blood will wash all your confessed sins away." Jesus allowed us to have a one - on - one relationship with God. Jesus allowed us access to all the promises and blessings that are in the bible because of our faith, trust and obedience to God. i remember when i first moved to DC, for undergrad, the church i attended did not have a regular Sunday for communion. instead of being grumpy, i got a slice of wheat bread and a glass of grape juice, and opened up the bible to Luke 22.17 -20. i confessed my sins and Holy Spirit reminded of sins I overlooked. Jesus washed away my sins spiritually. i felt lightened and enlightened. even though they have communion every Friday at prayer, i still love to pull out the bible, a slice of Ezekiel bread and some grape juice and fellowship with God.

God we thank You that You "took the loaf of bread and when You had given thanks, You broke it and gave it to us, saying, "This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me." and he did the same with the cup after supper, saying, "This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood." God we thank You for the new covenant that we have with You. God continue to perfect that which concerns me. in Jesus' name, amen

palm sunday

today is the beginning of Holy Week. I am so amped up. Besides the day that I became a Christian, this week is special to me. Because of what my Brother, Jesus, did for me, I am able to have an intimate relationship with Abba. I am no longer a resident of Egypt or Babylon. I am not bond by sin. I can worship God in Spirit and in Truth. I can listen and converse with God. Holy Spirit teaches me as I study the Word to live a life before God that is holy and pleasing to fulfill my earthly call. It does not get better than this. I understand why the angels cry out, 'holy, holy, holy. Lord God of hosts. Heaven and earth are full of Your glory.'

whether they have palms at church or they run out as they pass them around, we can cry out Hosannah. Glory to God in the highest. I am on cloud nine. I am in love with Jesus. and Jesus is in love with me.

Matthew 21.8-11 states 8. Many people spread clothes in the road, while others put down branches which they had cut from trees. 9. Some people walked ahead of Jesus and others followed behind. They were all shouting, "Hooray for the Son of David! God bless the one who comes in the name of the Lord. Hooray for God in heaven above!." 10. When Jesus came to Jerusalem, everyone in the city was excited and asked, "Who can this be?" 11. the crowd answered, "This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee."

God, we are so glad that you came into our lives. God we are blessed because You sent Jesus. God, You are worthy. You are the King of kings. You are the Lord of lords. Thank You Jesus, in Your name, we pray, amen.
