thanks God

it is Mother's day morning. i am thinking about a lot of stuff.

i met a Pakistani gentleman yesterday who told me that we do not celebrate mothers day in our country. mother's live with a son for their entire lives.

one of my students wanted to fight another student who said 'your mother' to her not knowing that her mother is deceased.

my mother and i actually went to dinner on Tuesday because i know the restaurants would be off the hook today.

i actually sent two cards to two people who God said needed one rather than the people who i usually send it to.

this morning i sent a prayer text to my praying sisters and all the women God introduced to me at Howard University while i pursued my Bachelor's and Master's degree.

most of all I just want to thank God for being the Mother and Father of my life. My life has changed tremendously for over a month. it is because God has really challenged me to not be comfortable where i am in life. my bible study has changed. my prayer life has changed. my soaking in God's presence has changed. my worship of God has changed. it is fun, exciting, and scary at the same time. i cried at first yet my smile internally and externally has grown tremendously. i am so hungry and God is feeding me. their are visions to pursue and the Word of God to live.

the psalmist proclaims in Psalm 119:171 My lips shall utter praise, For You teach me Your statutes.

God, Your Word is a Lamp unto my feet and a Light unto my path. God I thank for ordering my steps in Your Word. God I thank You for increasing in me so I may decrease. God I thank You that even as the deer pants for the water brook so does my soul thirst for You O God. God, my lips shall utter praise, for You teach me Your statutes. in Jesus' name, amen
