a closer walk

i love the summer. each morning it is a similar routine. go for a walk, lift weights, do some calisthenics, bathe, do pbs (personal bible study), pray, read read read, do chores, garden, read, read, journal, relax. some afternoons, i am also able to go for a second walk and/or do some stretching exercises. does it ever amaze anyone how you gain weight over a certain period of time and it seems longer when the body fat is being summoned off your body through aerobic and non aerobic exercises?
this is probably the first summer that i have not read 5 books a week. its okay. its not a sin. i am happy that i have read a nice assortment of books. after i finish reading any book, i always journal 5 lessons learned from each book. life has a lot to teach you and books can teach you also.
i guess i should be telling you the names of the books i read. i am to lazy to retrieve my journal. maybe next week. lol.

Psalm 86:11 Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.
i have been praying this psalm a lot this summer, this year. as a Christian, i know that transformation occurs at the heart. God can not use or transform me if i have a hard heart. each morning i pray, create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. so each morning, when i am sitting with God, i meditate on the Word and ask God to forgive me any sin related to the verses. i ask God to deliver me from any behavior that does not glorify God. i ask Holy Spirit to teach me; i really want to understand the Word of God. i want to fulfill the purpose for which i am created.
God, teach me Your ways, O Lord. Lord, I want to walk in the truth of Your Word. God unite my heart with You God. God I reverence Your name. in Jesus' name, amen

have a blessed, peaceful, productive week!
