happy Holy Ghost day

those are the 4 words i asked the worshippers to say to their neighbors before they sat down during praise and worship today. a few days ago, i was looking through the bible for the first appearance of Holy Spirit. i found the occurrence in Genesis 1:1-2

1 in the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, 2 the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters.

so Holy Spirit first appeared hovering over the formless void (we are not formless voids. we are made in God's image), as a wind, yet Holy Spirit has a very operative part in the lives of the believer (part of Holy Spirit's bio is in John 14 - 16). Holy Spirit became more interactive in the life of the believer after Jesus ascended into heaven. Acts 1:4-5; 2:1-2

1:4 while staying with them, he ordered them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait there for the promise of the Father. "This," he said, "is what you have heard from me; 5 for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now."

2:1 when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. 2 and suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.

God wants to purify us. the more that you yield your will to God's will, the more time you take each day to study the Word, to confess the Word, to accept the Word, to live the Word, to repent and seek deliverance, the more the Word, power and Spirit of God transforms you. i have learned that the more i seek God's face, the more God reveals who God is, who i am called to be and who i can become by repenting, yielding and obeying God.

Holy Spirit, let the wind of God's spirit fill me. God i shall sit here patiently until i received the baptism of the Holy Spirit as promised from God. Holy Spirit sit on me. Abide in me. Create in me a clean heart O God and renew a right spirit within me. God i hide Your word in my heart that i might not sin against You. in Jesus' name, amen

God we want more, more, more of You
