holy communion

i was sitting in church today and i said out loud what i was thinking, 'when do we get communion?' my friend turned around and looked at me. i said, 'its my favorite part.' i am not sure why i did not do it at home? a few times at home, i will have some sprouted wheat bread, some grape juice and my Word. i will turn to the scripture and reenact what Jesus did with the disciples in the upper room. it is cool because HS (Holy Spirit) will reveal to me sin that i unconsciously committed and i will confess it. thereafter i break the bread in remembrance of what My Brother, Jesus, did for me and bless and drink the grape juice, in remembrance of the blood shed that forgives my sins and protects me each day as i seek the covering.

when the organist started playing, 'let us break bread together on our knees,' she turned around and said, there is your favorite part. i smiled back. at the altar, i repented for my hyperactivity and God forgave me.

Mark 14.22-26 states:And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke [it], and gave [it] to them and said, "Take, eat; [fn] this is My body." Then He took the cup, and when He had given thanks He gave [it] to them, and they all drank from it. And He said to them, "This is My blood of the new [fn] covenant, which is shed for many. "Assuredly, I say to you, I will no longer drink of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God." And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

I pray that you take the communion that you have with God seriously. God wants us to have a pure heart when we approach the communion table. Spend time with God before and after the communion. it will change you forever.
