Stop doing the same thing

When I was in Sunday School this morning, I was explaining to my pastor how I have been asking God to do more with my life.  He wanted me to explain.  My answer was two - fold, I am learning that Holy Spirit can do more than what I originally perceived based on revelation I have received from God during personal bible study, prayer and worship and also the book (A Woman's Guide to Spirit Filled Living by Sherrer and Garlock) that co - pastor has us reading for reading group really explains how interactive Holy Spirit wants to be in your life.  I gave the following example, 'I used to come home from work and watch television.  This was not helping me because it did not relax me.  Now when I come home, I grab my journal, my bible and I go to my room.  After I close the door, I just welcome the presence of God in my room.  Holy Spirit and I just talk about my day...interactions with people, concerns that need to be address, people I need to intercede for, revelations I received.  Other times I just enjoy being comforted by God.   I feel so relaxed when I leave at 525pm, to watch my favorite television show, I look forward to the midday time with God.  I actually try to do it three times a day.  Stop doing the same thing, spend some time with God.  Relax in God's presence.
Pray Colossians 1.9-12 everyday of your life and follow Holy Spirit as Holy Spirit teaches, guides and directs you.  God cannot be involved if you do not invite God to be involved.
And so, from the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, to lead a life worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.
