Am I prejudice?

I think it was two weeks ago. I was watching a television show which was reporting the results of a the study conducted by a sister with a doctorate on "white bias and children." After the show was over, I shared with my mother how some of my students are prejudice. Most of my students are multicultural. When I listen to the students talk to each other or about each other, they judge each other based on the color of their skin, the type of clothes/tennis shoes they wear, the texture of their hair, the personal hygiene, etcetra etcetra. The judgement based on skin color is at the forefront because news show I had watched.

I wonder if parents teach there children to be bias. I wonder if parents talk to their children about being bias. I wonder if adults are dealing with their own bias issues.

one of my favorite stories in the bible is when Jesus talked to the Samaritan woman. (John 4:4-10 But He needed to go through Samaria. So He came to a city of Samaria which is called Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied from His journey, sat thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour. A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, "Give Me a drink." For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food. Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, "How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?" For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans. Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, 'Give Me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.")

Some of us need to go the well of God and ask God for a drink of conversation. I asked God all the time to help me. I do not want to not have a relationship with someone because of previous relationships different ethnicity's or genders had with each other. Jesus is the ultimate role model. Jesus related to everyone from all walks of life. I asked Jesus to daily to help me relate to people from all walks of life.

Have you been to the well?
