how do you know that your growing as a Christian?

My sister came into town last night. We went to dinner after I got off work. I love spending time with her because we tell each other the truth. As we sat in my favorite Thai restaurant in Brooklyn, she said, 'How do you know that you are growing closer to God?' Internally, I was like wow. Externally, I drunk all the water in my freshly refilled glass and counted to 10. I began talking about everything that God was doing in my life, from dealing with being sick all week long, to how God was showing me to not condemn myself for sin that God forgives me of, to witnessing more about Abba to people who do not know God and to those who know Abba from a distance. During Lent, I have been looking at life differently and the people around me differently. I have been seeing people how God sees them. God loves everyone and God wants to pour God's love into each individual, yet each person created in God's image must come to meet God. Where does the testimony come? The one's who know God must let their Light shine. Each day I pray the prayer of the psalmist found in Psalm 51:10. I want to become the woman of God that God is calling me to be.

Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

God, I want to grow as a Christian. God I want to be a vessel of Your love. God create in me a clean heart and renew a steadfast spirit in me. In Jesus' name, I pray, amen
