i am not sure if i chose the right title for this bible reflection, yet i know that this year of the Lord, 2011, i have continued the same behavior i started in 2010, in the rear of my journal, i write down what God tells me. its actually fun because it makes your more conscious of God's voice. at the end of the day, 'I'm like HS (Holy Spirit) i have not heard from Abba today.' and God responds, 'Monique, did you forget what we talked about earlier...' i actually need to get my journal now and record because if i forget one day, I'm like HS can you remind me about yesterday. it's cool because God has an awesome memory.
anyway, ash Wednesday was 4 days ago. we are in this holy season of lent. everybody always wants to know 'what are you giving up for lent?' I'm like, what are you doing to increase your level of intimacy with Abba? have you asked God how to be a better Christian? this is when the conversation gets silent.
my prayer is that people would spend time listening to God's voice. how would you do that? prayer and bible study. you read God's word, meditate on it for 15 to 20 minutes and HS to explain each verse (John 14-16( HS has a purpose in our lives)). pray the verses, pray the promises, pray the commandments, repent of any sins and/or ask for deliverance from any sins mentioned, be receptive to the revelation from HS.
John 10. 14 I am the Good Shepherd; and I know and recognize My own, and My own know and recognize Me-- 15 even as (truly as) the Father knows Me and i also know the Father--and i am giving My (very own) life and laying it down on behalf of the sheep. 27 the sheep that are My own hear and are listening to My voice; and I know them, and they follow Me.
God, You are the Good Shepherd. God I am glad that You know and recognize me. God help me recognize and be more aware of Your presence in my life. God i want to know You just as You and the Father know each other. Thank You Jesus for giving and laying down Your life on my behalf. God help me hear and listen to Your voice. God i want to follow You daily. in Jesus' name, amen
