i am a Christian. i love God. my relationship with God has grown over the years because of my commitment to daily prayer (listening to God and talking to God), daily praise and worship (worship at home is just as good as worshipping with other believers) and daily bible study (personal and corporate bible study is awesome). God wants us to spend time with us each day of your life.
bible study is important. the top 10 reasons i love studying the Word of God:
1. learn about the God who created me in God's image.
2. learn about what is expected (precepts, commandments)of me as a Christian.
3. learn the promises that are available to me.
4. learn about how God utilized other believers to fulfill their purpose.
5. grow as a Christian, personally, spiritually, psychologically, emotionally, and mentally.
6. we are commanded and admonished to become students of the Word of God.
7. God will provide you with what Word to minister to believers and non - believers.
8. we are equipped to live on earth.
9. we learn how to prepare for the return of God. we know what will happen on Earth and in Heaven.
10. as intercessors, we will know what to pray for and the promise that coincides with the prayer.
the psalmists states:
Psalm 119:105-112.
105. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. 106 I have taken an oath and confirmed it, that I will follow Your righteous laws. 107 i have suffered much; preserve my life, O Lord, according to Your Word. 108 Accept, O Lord, the willing praise of my mouth, and teach me Your laws. 109 Though I constantly take my life in my hands, I will not forget our law. 110 the wicked have set a snare for me, but i have not strayed from your precepts. 111 Your statutes are my heritage forever; they are the joy of my heart. 112 my heart is set on keeping Your decrees to the very end.
God, forgive me God for not allowing Your Word to be a Lamp unto my feet and a Light unto my path. God, i desire to follow Your righteous laws. God, i am tired of suffering. God preserve my life according to Your Word. God, please accept the praise of my lips. God teach me Your laws. God forgive me for taking my life into my own hands. God forgive me for forgetting Your law. God i do not want to go astray from Your Word. God, Your Word is a heritage forever. God, Your Word is joy to my heart. God, i shall keep Your Word until the end. in Jesus' name, amen
